Smart home technology is evolving and booming. Global smart home market revenue is expected to reach a value of more than $141 billion (USD) by 2023, according to Statista. The number of smart homes is expected to surpass the 300 million mark in the same span.

As more tools become available to make your dwelling the home of the future, you’ll likely need additional guidance and encouragement. Likely, you find yourself wondering what “works with” what.

That will be the focus of Silicon Labs’ Work With virtual conference Sept. 9-10. Industry leaders, hardware engineers, application designers, and developers will engage in technical training with beginner to advanced participants. Speakers will lead 25 workshops and breakout sessions on Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi, Thread, ZigBee®, or Z-Wave technology while training smart-home engineers and developers on integrating products with any hub or smart-home ecosystem.

Participants can meet virtually with developers while accessing videos, additional broadcasts, and tips and tricks. Click here to register.

Development Courses at the Conference

The two-day event will spotlight five core workshops and 12 elective courses. Mouser Electronics and TTI are among the sponsors.

The Work With conference will feature elective courses with SiLab engineers focusing on:

  • New to Smart Home Development: Starting with the basics of product design and development, this is a chance to take your software idea and kick-start development with the right partner.
  • Advanced Smart Home Development: This is a chance to run your application and ensure you're ready for the certification process. You can connect with partners who can help get your product to market faster.
  • Smart Home Business Development: Learn more about trends, technology, and new features enabled in today's products and interact with single-end node and gateway partners.

Registrants can select core workshop to get hands-on guidance from smart-home experts in designing products that work with Amazon, Google, Apple HomeKit, Samsung, and Z-Wave.

  • Amazon: Learn various aspects of Amazon Common Software (ACS) live in the Software Development Kit (SDK) and build and program devices with Amazon Alexa example projects.
  • Google: Learn the use of OpenThread and OpenWeave and leave with a smart-home application running on a development kit.
  • Apple HomeKit: Apple and SiLabs engineers will teach the various aspects of the HomeKit Live in the SDK.
  • Z-Wave: Get experience with Z-Wave SDK and device testing and learn how the new standards Development Organization impacts device certification.

Attendees will have the opportunity to schedule a meeting with Silicon Labs or an ecosystem partner to get one-on-one technical guidance.
